As a designer, when possible, I always try and push for REAL plants. But sometimes it isn’t reality to think you can manage the upkeep, especially if you travel a lot or you’re significant other can not be trusted to water them for you.
WHAT TO LOOK FOR IN A FAUX PLANT
Plastic is the way to go especially for plants. It is so easy to wipe clean and looks super realistic. I also love going for the indoor plant that is hard to find at your local nursery. I did throw in a silk plant just to show the difference!
If you love a certain plant but its just too high maintenance, opt for the faux version!
HOW MUCH SHOULD YOU SPEND ON A FAUX PLANT
If budget is an issue, target has some really great options for faux plants. I would be careful with trying to cheap out as you want to make sure this faux plant is high quality. When I buy faux plants I want them to look so realistic I forget they aren’t real. They will obviously live forever so save up for that one you’ve had your eye on!
HOW TO CLEAN YOUR FAUX PLANT
It is best to take a feather duster or a microfiber cloth to clean your plant. To give it a deep clean window cleaner is a great option to disinfect with.
